Infinite Structure 3-8 Iso

This image depicts a theoretical, infinite structure consisting of cubes located at one out of every 8 points on a three-dimensional Cartesian grid, with each cube connected to three others by diagonal beams.

The issue of the seemingly impossible geometry (in those tight triangles) can be solved: if you are looking at one of those three cubes, then you follow around the "triangle" and back to the original cube, you're no longer looking at the same cube. Instead, you're looking at a different cube, which is located either directly in front of, or directly behind, the original cube. I had thought Escher did something like that, so I thumbed through my book of his prints, and found "Cubic Space Division" from 1952; however, that's rendered in perspective.

Anyway, I could easily create a 3D perspective rendering of this structure. Maybe I'll do that soon.
