Recolored and Reprojected

Description

This is actually an OpenStreetMap map, which I've reprojected and recolored. Like nearly all online maps, this was originally in the Mercator projection. I have transformed it to the "Columbus projection" shown here: a conformal projection designed to have a curve of constant scale approximately following I-270. That scale, by the way, is about one part in one million larger than the city core. The scale gets a little more warped outside the suburbs, but generally within one part in one thousand for all areas shown here. (A larger region in this projection, for example the Great Lakes, would be quite distorted.) Most people who understood the above might like to point out that there's very little to gain from optimizing a projection for such a small area. I did it purely for the mathematical challenge. As for the change in colors from the OSM original, that was purely for aesthetics.

Actually, I intend to use this as a base map from which to trace a new SVG map of the Columbus area for Wikipedia. But for some reason I thought the intermediate product might be worth showing off.
